How the PicoSure Pro Works
The PicoSure Pro System is a cutting-edge laser tattoo removal technology that delivers 3x the amount of pigment absorption, significantly reducing the number of treatments needed compared to traditional lasers. Operating at a 755 nm picosecond wavelength, it effectively targets and shatters all tattoo ink colors, including stubborn blues and greens, while remaining safe for all skin types with little to no downtime.
Instead of relying on heat, PicoSure Pro uses rapid pressure waves to break down ink into microscopic particles, allowing the body to naturally eliminate them more efficiently. FAQs About Laser Tattoo Removal
One of the best features of the PicoSure Pro is that there is little to no downtime after your treatments! You may notice redness and slight swelling at the treatment site but this should resolve in a couple of hours.
Some patients describe these treatments as a “rubber band snap” kind of pain, but speak with us to discuss your concerns as we have options to ensure your comfort.
A number of factors affect how many sessions are needed including the size of tattoo, how deep the pigment is in the skin, the saturation of colour, and where the tattoo is located. Another large factor is whether you are looking to simply lighten the tattoo to do a coverup, or to have it removed completely. However, your laser technician will discuss a personalized treatment plan to ensure you reach your desired result.
You may have a new tattoo or coverup as soon as 6 weeks post treament!
Unlike other devices, the Picosure Pro shatters the pigment into MUCH smaller particles (think pebbles vs sand), has 3x the amount of pigment absorption, and therefore can break down pigment more easily which means less treatments are needed. PLUS, the Picosure Pro can target ALL…that’s right, all tattoo colours.
Tattoo removal sessions are spaced 8-10 weeks apart.
You may notice an immediately difference after one treatment. But over the course of 8-10 weeks post treatment, you will continue to see a reduction. Significant results typically appear after 3-5 treatments as your body processes the shattered ink particles. Lighter tattoos may fade faster, while darker, more saturated ones may take longer.
